Location: Marchant Square (Center of the Park)
Time: 10:00 to 15:00
Price: free (excluding Entrance park)
Come to De Hoge Veluwe National Park and cut down your own Christmas Tree this year! Picking and cutting down your own tree is a a fun family trip, but also helps the nature of De Hoge Veluwe. The pine trees are growing rapidly on the unique, open sand drift fields of the Park. If the Scots Pine trees are not removed, this particular unique landscape will disappear. So by cutting your own Christmas tree, you don't only help yourself, but also nature.
How does it work?
Come to the Center area (the Marchant Square) of the Park and collect your voucher. Each visitor is allowed to pick and cut down one tree. If you are with 4 people and 1 car, you can bring 4 trees home.
Once you have your voucher(s), follow the signs that will lead you to the location where you can pick your tree. Volunteers will be present to help and guide you if needed. You can use your own saw, or borrow one from us.
The tree can be taken home free of charge, only the entrance to the Park has to be paid.
More Christmas Celebration? Combine the Christmas tree saw with a visit to the Christmas market on 7 and 8 December. An atmospheric winter market with local produce, brocante, presents and various music performances. Getting cold? Warm up with a drink in the Parkrestaurant. Children can enjoy themselves creatively in the Knutselbus.
